Dance & Architecture Exploratory Lab (NYC)

The Moving Architects will explore the intersection of architecture and movement in collaboration with Professors Ashlie Boelkins and Olivia Pontiff and Master of Architecture graduate students from the School of Architecture & Design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Students will develop an understanding of Laban space harmony as led by Artistic Director Erin Carlisle Norton, and immerse in a workshop between the students and professional dancers. The Moving Architects will explore movement in response to the student’s designs or “choreography” of their creative works. The goal of the Exploratory Lab is to ignite a creative process for both disciplines where the bodies’ relationship to emotion and space are in focus.
