Kathy Imlay is an independent curator whose focus is on the power of the visual arts to reshape society. Working predominantly with emerging artists, Imlay partners with public and private institutions to advance their careers, collaborating with museums, architects, and designers. Most recently she guest curated “Lori Field: Tiger Tarot” (September 10, 2022 – Jan 2, 2023) at the Montclair Art Museum. She wrote the catalogue for the show, and designed and published a limited edition Artist Tarot Deck. With a background as an independent researcher, Imlay has developed relationships globally with artists whose work embodies the transformative qualities of art, placing work in museums and with private collectors. She spent 15 years in Africa and Latin America studying the use of art in healing practices and curated multiple exhibitions with programming. Currently she Co-leads art and cultural tours to Havana, Cuba, focusing on the history of women’s work in contemporary art practices. She has a BA from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA, and completed her Master’s courses at Queens College, NY.
