Barbara began her serious study of dance at the Center for Modern Dance in Hackensack, NJ, focusing on the Graham technique. She did a short intensive with Martha Graham as well as a 6-week intensive at Connecticut College for Women with members of the Graham company. She was a member of the NJ Repertory Dance Company and also studied and performed with the Charles Weidman Dance Theater Workshop in NYC. Barbara has a Masters Degree in Dance Movement Therapy from New York University. Although she subsequently became an ESL teacher in Livingston, NJ, Barbara continued her passion for movement by studying Yoga, Barre, Aerobic Dance, and Pilates Reformer. In recent years, Barbara and her husband have studied Ballroom and Latin dancing at Rogers Dance Center in Fairfield, NJ, where she has also performed in various showcases.
